Haskins & Dye Lead Standings in Race To The Toyota Cup

Based on overall results through the Life Time Minneapolis Triathlon, professional triathletes Sarah Haskins (USA) and Cameron Dye (USA) are the current point leaders in the Race to the Toyota Cup, which concludes in Dallas October 7th.
Saturday, July 14, marked the fourth event in the Race to the Toyota Cup at the Life Time Minneapolis Triathlon. Both Sarah Haskins and Hunter Kemper of Colorado won the professional races.
Within the female professional division, defending female champion, Sarah Haskins (USA) outlasted Gwen Jorgensen (USA) and Jillian Pertersen (USA) to win the third race of the seven-event Series. Haskins completed the course in 1:57:50.

In his first middle distance competition, Javier G?mez Noya (ESP) spectacularly won both the Half Distance Triathlon European Championship and Challenge Half Barcelona this Sunday. Camilla Pedersen (DEN) took the women's title for the second year in a row.
Gomez dominated the competition throughout, scoring his dream debut in Calella. "I only have one word: spectacular. In the beginning, I tried to manage my effort in the very demanding cycling segment, but when I saw myself getting comfortable and securing enough margin, I decided to enjoy the run course and its public. Compression clothing could affect perceived recovery

New research published in the latest European Journal of Applied Physiology casts doubts on the physiological benefits of compression clothing – often used by cyclists to aid training – but has found an improvement in athletes’ perceived recovery. Researchers in Australia tested eight highly trained field hockey players and measured blood lactate, inflammation levels and perceived recovery. The athletes were put through two match simulations, four weeks apart.
